Accounting Manager
Summary:
We’re seeking an accounting manager who demonstrates a deep knowledge of financial accounting and provide innovative solutions for process and policy improvement in overall accounting operations. This versatile role requires you to take on a diverse range of projects that are critical to the success of the business, demanding adaptability and the ability to solve problems and interact with executives effectively. You’ll be a vital member of the accounting team within the finance organization at Stardust Power, reporting directly to the Director of Accounting. Responsibilities:
- Oversee operational accounting processes, including cash management, vendor payments, prepaid expenses, and other assets and liabilities. Tasks include preparing/ reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, preparing disclosure schedules for financial filings, and conducting fluctuation analysis.
- Manage daily accounting activities to ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal policies, and external audits.
- Lead the monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring strict adherence to deadlines.
- Work closely with Finance and cross-functional teams on monthly close matters and other projects.
- Assist with the preparation of SEC filings and supporting documents, including Form 10-K, 10-Q, proxy statements, and other required form filings.
- Review contracts to identify technical accounting matters and ensure compliance with corporate and accounting policies.
- Assist management with complex finance related processes such as stock compensation, mergers and acquisition accounting and drafting technical accounting position memos.
- Drive process optimization and automation efforts to improve efficiency and effectiveness, leveraging technology solutions.
- Ensure all key internal controls over operations and financial reporting comply with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with local, state, and government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Assist in developing budgets and forecasting.
- Participate in additional assignments and ad hoc projects as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in public company, accounting and/or auditing. Preferably, prior experience with a Big 4 audit firm.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA (or equivalent) preferred.
- Experience in start-ups and high-growth companies is a plus.
- Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks Online.
- Experience with accounting system implementation is a plus.
