Stardust Power, a US-based developer of battery-grade lithium products, has broken ground on the construction of a lithium refinery at the Southside Industrial Park in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
Sumitomo, a Japan-based integrated trading company has agreed to acquire 20,000 metric tons per annum of Stardust Power’s first line of production of battery-grade lithium carbonate from its future Muskogee refinery.
Less than two weeks after Stardust Power Inc. broke ground on its lithium refinery in Muskogee, Okla., Sumitomo has entered into a preliminary agreement to acquire 80% of the battery-grade lithium carbonate to be produced at the strategically located American Heartland battery materials plant.

Stardust Power officially started on-site construction operations at its $1.2 billion lithium refinery in Muskogee County, Oklahoma. Along with officials representing Stardust Power, Oklahoma’s Lieutenant Governor, Matt Pinnell was present at this groundbreaking event.
